This is swedish comedian Christine Melzer  from Melodifestivalen 2010. She s me of course… in a typical, ordinary day of my life.

I have seen it at least 10 times in the last hour… LOLx1000.  Inget konstigt alls. Swe: nothing strange about that at all. I m just your ordinary mezzo soprano…  Tack Christine! I suspect Edward af Sillén might have something to do with this as well… ?Inget konstigt alls!

My  new Cd sold platinum in less than 7 weeks this summer!  Thank you all for that!! Tack så hemsk mycket! “La Voix Du Nord” is a double Cd containing 11 arias and 11 new popsongs and it was released in Sweden on july first.  It was the  8th most sold album overall in Sweden in 2009. If you for some reason lack some good christmas music…. here is the whole  Nordic Christmas concert, recorded in Aalborg, Denmark 3 weeks ago. Me and Carola, Melody Gardot, Michael Bolton and Jamie Cullum. Enjoy! I must say… I ve done a few tv galas over the years in quite a few countries BUT the sound quality from DR is in a division of its own!!! This is cd quality! For those in charge of Danish TV sound : I salute you!  However…. the ones writing the titles on to the tv screen may need some more training..:) God REST ye merry gentlemen…

Next week Peter Mattei and me do 9 x mas concerts in Stockholm. Then its off to Estonia for New Years Concerts.

Next year will be much the same as every year… Opera abroad and concerts in Sweden and around Europe.

I’m doing two Opera productions: Idomeneo ( Idamante ) by Mozart at La Monnaie/ De Munt in Bruxelles opening on march 16.

And in September it’s back to Vienna and William Christie and Les Arts Florissants for Händels Semele; with a great cast including my old friends Cecilia Bartoli  and Kerstin Avemo.

Lots of concerts too of course. Starting in Gävle on jan 5th. A concert with Stockholm Philharmonic entitled Singa a long opera will be screened live in cinemas all over Sweden on jan 14.

International highlights include Ligetis  Requiem  in Munich with Esa Pekka Salonen (may) and The Tales of Hoffman in Moscow (october) with Vladimir Jurowskij.

And yes… we re planning a new cd!

On friday 27 th nov 19:30. If you can t make it….The concert is broadcasted live on DR P2. Here is information about the concert with the Copenhagen Philharmonic. 5 stars in Jyllands Posten! Wild music!

Tyvärr…. jag är förkyld! Så konserten på Operan är flyttad till 6e dec kl 14:00. Det här påverkar inte inte konserten i Uppsala imorgon. Däremot kommer jag göra några programändringar i Uppsala för att kunna sjunga allt… Konserten på Operan däremot är så pass krävande ( det är bara jag och Bengt Åke Lundin på piano) att det inte är möjligt att genomföra den med en förkylning. Jag skulle kanske kunna göra halva konserten…. Men jag vill inte göra nånting halvhjärtat.. Särskilt inte när hela Operan är helt slutsåld till sista lyssnarplats. Så 6e dec alltså! Ni som inte har möjlighet att komma då, besök Operans hemsida för vidare info. Jag ber tusen gånger om ursäkt för allt krångel som det här ställer till. Och jag är så väldigt ledsen…men tyvärr så blir man ju förkyld ibland. Jag hoppas vara frisk igen till Torsdagens konsert på Konserthuset.

Here it is! My first and only popvideo!  We really didn’t have any time as I was commuting back and forth to La Cenerentola at Oper Frankfurt, making a documentary for Swedish TV and also recording a classical cd with Stockholm Sinfonietta…so Anders and Mårten and Leif at Roxy suggested that we did it documentary-style! The camera man Andres just had a small pocket size camera and he travelled with me and the crew from Swedish TV to Frankfurt.

You can see the SVT crew in the pictures at my favourite Starbucks just by the opera.

Bengt Åke Lundin and me performing in the living room again… A piece by Bo Linde called Den ängen där du kysste mig. Now we are preparing for our next recital at the Stockholm Royal Opera on November 15th.

So;  the 10 performances of Dido and Aeneas in Amsterdam were all sold out since june – as well as the 2 semi staged concerts at the Barbican. 4000 people at the Barbican alone…Read the review in The Times. Great news! On Sunday the 11th of October I will be performing live at the Scandipop Club in London.
That is the night after the final of Dido and Aeneas at the Barbican. And I promise you there will not be a single Baroque piece in the entire performance…

7pm -11 pm at Escape on Brewer Street right in the heart of Soho. Did I say London? Oh yes… big bad London it is!

I started this summer with 7 sold out performances in Vienna in late may and ended it on on Sunday 16th of august in front of 35 000 people in Stockholm….

27 concerts. And I ve sang live for more than 85 000 people!!!!!!!! Not counting Moscow or Råsunda Football Stadium….

Konserten den 4 e september var redan utsåld. Biljetterna till den andra konserten den 5 e september släpptes den 29 aug och sålde slut på 5 min!!!!! Recensionen läser du här. Nu är jag fortfarande förkyld… Tänker vara det nu i några dagar och vila upp mig..

The tickets for the 9 shows of Dido and Aeneas In AMSTERDAM in october sold out in less than a week! Just like in Vienna and Paris. On the last night in Paris  there was even A REAL FIGHT at the box office – with fists and all…  Sadly with a big cast, that is booked up for years , it’s not possible to add extra performances. There is a DVD on the way …But!!!! to the concerts in LONDON there are still tickets left. But it’s filling up really fast so if you do want to hear it I suggest you act on it now!  You buy your tickets here!!!

I kväll är det Schlagerkvällen på Pridefestivalen. Och många frågar varför jag inte är med….. Sen lång tid – långt innan Fredrik Kempe och jag spelade in första demon till La Voix – så var det bestämt att jag skulle medverka på Gotland Chamber Music Festival i Visby i kväll. Och självklart kan jag inte ställa in saker som jag lovat göra. Hur gärna man än vill ibland!!! För självklart vill jag hemskt gärna sjunga på Pride festivalen! Ni vet alla varför.

Jag sa till arrangörerna att jag ställer upp och gör vadsomhelst på Fredag eller Lördag kväll… Och därför känns det toppen att meddela att jag kommer att sjunga på festen på Nalen sent på Fredag kväll!! Läs mer… Jag hoppas vi ses där!
