Sunday 16 th of October is the opening in Vienna. This version is from a recording with Stockholm Sinfonietta. Available on iTunes worldwide! This version is also part of the soundtrack in the Australian movie The Hunter ( starring Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill) that went up movie theatres last week. På måndag tjuvstartar jag, Markus Schwartz, Mats Bergström och Svenska Stråkensemblen julen 2011 hemma i Gävle! Sen väntar 16 konserter runt om i landet. Det ska bli så vansinnigt kul! Julen är en fest och det är julen som gör det möjligt att jag får åka runt i hela Sverige och träffa publiken. På riktigt!! Vi har behållit det vi tyckte mest om från förra året men det mesta är nytt. Och även om vi fokuserar mera på julen i år än förra året så finns det förstås med lite klassik musik och opera också!! On April 21 I sing a recitle concert in Baden-Baden. And the tour with Mahler Chamber Orchestra – conducted by Teodor Currentzis – starts in Köln on November 2. I will be singing Brittens Phaedra and Berios Folk Songs in Dortmund, Essen, Berlin, Poznan and Warsaw. Check CALENDER for dates. More to follow…

Next season awaits 3 title roles in Vienna and Paris. First it s Serse at Theater an der Wien, with a great cast including Bejun Mehta,  Danielle de Niese and Ensemble Matheus conducted by Jean Christophe Spinosi. In march it´s Dido and Aeneas at the Opera Comique in Paris with Willam Christie and les Arts Florissants . And next summer it s back to Vienna for a Christof Loy / Leo Hussain production of   La donna del lago with ORF Radio Symphonic Orchestra.

There will be a Christmas tour in Sweden that will cover some 25 concerts in  15 cities as well !!! And  more … to be announced.

Last winter we had 2 CDs ready to be made. Santa Lucia and Opera di Fiori. This is the order we decided on… And after the huge success on the christmas album we wanted to create a warm summer feeling on Opera di Fiori. So we let the flowers lead the way. In the world of opera there’s no shortage of flowers…  They are everywhere! From the earliest music via Carmen and Escamillo to the cotton fields of South Carolina in Porgy and Bess.

Though the album title sounds very operatic it actually hasn’t got anything to do with music! It means “flower work” or “flower arrangement”. We found this lovely group of florists in Bolsena on Facebook called Opera Dei Fiori that made the most incredible paintings out of flowers and I immediately felt like I had  found my ultimate metaphor for  opera singing; where  you spend years or decades preparing something that only last for a few moments in time. Like a painting made of flowers.

We prepared the recordings during the winter and recorded during 3 weeks in april in Swedish Radio Studio 2 ( apart from the 2 pieces with the choir that needed the bigger Filadelfia Church).It does make a huge difference for me as an artist to be able to work at home with people who I really know and trust. So we insisted on working with the exact same team as on Santa Lucia.It’s the ultimate luxury really. And a very rare luxury too… We hope you re able to hear that on the album. Along with the flowers of course!!
